Wild Redwoods clean up

On Thursday the 13th we went to the Redwoods for our SVA.
The day was hot and our class slowly walked up the hill to the top. We got to the top slowly but steadily came down to the start of the Redwoods. Then we started to clean up, sticks were getting moved and creaks were getting cleaned.
The good thing was the food that was delicious and the bad thing was walking back.
Next time we should stay for a bit longer.

Best part about my holiday

The best part about my holiday was watching the movie Spider Wick and it was cool. Spider Wick was scary and funny. It was about a guy opening a book and cursing a spell though the woods. Then the monsters wanted to get the book and be powerful enough to destroy the world.  

Science With Trish

On Tuesday we went to Science with Trish and the most interesting thing was that everything in the world is made out of atoms.

The Science Road Show

The Road Show is in the Hasting's Intermediate and it was fun. You learnt that if it's a hot day and if the railway lines don't have a gap in them the heat get's into the railway lines and makes them wonky.

The exhibit that interested me was the one were there were millions of mirrors and you could see your self a lot of times.

When Jacob had to be a caveman and had to pick out of a plate of food or a plate of a skeleton head with bugs coming out.

I learnt that if you put a flame out you can light it by putting the flame on the smoke.

MTG Trip

Last week room 4 went to The MTG Trip which was in Napier opposite the beach. In there you had to do all kinds of activities like make a movie scene, put costumes on and you do the scene in front of a green screen. They told you about the 1931 Napier Earthquake and how it caused a fire after. The fire that was after the earthquake made money stick together.

Earthquake News Report

It happened on Friday 31 of August 2018 8:51 am 5 km east of Palmerston North. It had weak shaking and a magnitude of 2.9 and was 26 km deep.

There was another Earthquake at the same time as the latest one and this time it was 25 km south-west of Seddon. It had a light shake and a 3.7 magnitude. Depth 13 km.

                                                                                       Most mould grows in wet and damp places because without water it is dry and got no texture. Steven has a little bit of mould because it had some water as it was in the sink. Maybe next time we should not put it outside because birds, rats and slugs peck at it and they get eaten. Now we have learnt not to put our bread in wet and damp places and always only leave it for 1 week or put it in the fridge and it will last longer.
